i'm not trying to start another debate on this topic, however if you're putting it between the pcv valve and the gooseneck, is it really needed? keep in mind that there is the stock honda oil seperator box right on the other side of the pcv valve. does the stock honda one not work or what?

It is my understanding that the stock honda PCV system is not capable of handling the high rpms and the excessive pressures that forced inductions cars have. The benefits seem to be pretty minimal for NA cars, but for FI cars, the benefits are much more noticeable.

Feel free to chime in on this anyone.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice again. I just finished installing the catch can. Since the Greddy catch can seems to be a big larger than other catch cans out there, space to mount it was hard to find. I ended up sandwiching it between the battery and the fuel filter. It can't move forward or backward, and it certainly can't fall down because the charcoal canister is right underneath it.

One thing bothers me though. The Greddy catch can comes with two blue anondized hose covers. They go right at the base of the hose where it comes out of the catch can. It seems to me that the seal isn't as good as it should be. I'd like to continue using those pieces, but if they don't seal well, I may end up just hose-clamping them to the catch can. Can someone instruct me on how to use those covers correctly?

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you suspect a vacuum leak big enough to stop the PVC valve from opening, who cares?

Any vacuum leak would be before the TB and sensors and the engine will run fine.

Ok. Thanks Greg. You know, it may be in my mind, but installation of the catch can seems to make my car run smoother overall. I'll judge that more over the next couple days of driving it. Maybe it's temporary...

alright, let me break it down for you. Everyone here in Japan has Catch tanks. you onl need one hose. From the head cover to the tank. Leave the other one open. I have Cusco myself. This is a bad picture but if you look at mine in the left corner you will see what I mean. Oil catch is supposed to prevent the hot blow by air from going through your engine, so will you feel it, no. But if you see oil building up in your Tank then you might have a problem somewhere. No oil is good. I have never seen oil in my tank though...
